Goddess Para Vac (‘Transcendental Speech’ AKA Saraswati) drawn in the Kerala Mural style, seated on her consort, Sri Bhairava (AKA Lord Shiva) drawn in a style evocative of ancient Kashmir by Ekabhumi Charles Ellik.

This design was created by Ekabhumi for the prestigious Rajanaka award. The degree of Rajanaka is an honorary name that was given by the kings of Kashmir to individuals who made extraordinary contributions in various fields like philosophy, poetry, and music.

This award is being revived after hundreds of years and will be conferred upon contemporary masters by the Abhinavagupta Institute of Advanced Studies, Government of India. This institution conducts research in the Kashmir Shaiva Darshana Project under the IKS Division, initiated with the idea of promoting Indian wisdom traditions under the Union Ministry of Education. One of the goals of the institution is to deepen the ancient relationship between Kashmir and Kerala’s spiritual traditions.

The award consists of Rs. 100,001 plus a certificate of fame, and a medallion etched with this design. The medallion will be made of copper and platinum, symbolically representing Shakti (red) and Shiva (white) in union (The medallion is not available for sale).
